Packing Guide

  1. Remove wheels and deflate slightly.

  2. Place back wheel in bottom wheel recess and secure with Velcro strap.

  3. Place a layer of foam over the wheel.

  4. Place bike chain on the largest chain ring and small sprocket.

  5. Remove pedals and secure using spare Velcro straps.

  6. Place frame on top of foam and position cranks of chain set so they are parallel with the edge of the box.

  7. Secure down using Velcro straps – Important – look under the foam for a chainset velcro strap and a velcro strap for the very end of the bike (where the rear wheel axel fits). Now check that the bike frame cannot move side to side or up and down. Please see instructional image in the lid of the box.

  8. Move anti crush pole to best position (may need 1/4 inch Allen key).

  9. Place foam layer on top of frame.

  10. Place front wheel in to the lid of the box, centre and secure with Velcro strap.

  11. Close the box and ensure clasps as aligned correctly.

Top Packing Tips

  • Do not over tighten the velcro straps as this will deform the Bikebox during transportation.

  • Please place flight labels on the designated area on the top of the box, and remove them when you return the box

  • Do not remove any of our stickers or logos on the bike box

  • Return all foam pieces inside the bike box

  • Return the TSA lock with the original code set

Terms & Conditions

  1. We are cyclists and try to be reasonable! For example, we know it's out of your control if the airline scratch the bike boxes - so scratches aren't included in the damages policy.

  2. Please follow the packing guides provided on ZurichBikeBoxes.com.

  3. Please take care of the bike box whilst it is in your possession.

  4. You will be charged for any missing items

  5. If the bike box is not returned or damaged you will be charged for repairs or a replacement bike box (up to 700 CHF).

  6. We are not liable for any damage to your bike whilst it is transported in our bike box. You are using our bike box at your own risk. Please arrange your own insurance. Many cycling insurance policies require a hard case for travel, like the boxes that we provide.
